“My generation is the second chance generation”

Dads Sourdough Bakery was born from a vivid dream that has forever changed my life. About 2 years ago I had this dream where I walked with my late mother through our building. It was a charming little bakery, filled with the warm aroma of fresh bread and sweet cinnamon rolls. It was a cozy breakfast spot, where laughter mingled with the clinking of coffee cups and the hiss of an espresso machine. We walked thru the back and into the kitchen, a pot of soup simmered on the stove and warm loaves of bread where cooling on a rack. We walked out the back door and settled at a sunlit table outside, my mother turned to me with a smile and said, “I love what you named the place.” Dads Sourdough Bakery with the logo and a picture of my dad where on the side of the building…
In that moment, I saw not just a bakery, but a vision—one that captured the essence of home, family, and the memories we shared in the kitchen. My mother taught me the importance of community and family, lessons that have stayed with me long after her passing. She was a home economics teacher by education but to me she was so much more.
Driven by her spirit, I set out to make that dream a reality. I messaged my friend Scott who is a realtor and just happened to have this listing, Scott knew I didn’t have the capital or credit to buy the building but he walked my wife and I thru it anyways. When we walked out that day, I told him somehow, some way I was going to get that building.

About a year later the listing price was dropped and I made a sarcastic post asking who wanted to be my landlord. The fact someone who I have to believe was sent by my mother answered that post still blows my mind. Every time a road block has come up, 2 or 3 different solutions have presented themselves.
Thank you Mom!
With the support of my wife, we are committed to creating a place where everyone is welcome. A space where long tables gather friends and families, fostering connection and joy. As I bake, I am reminded of the countless hours spent in the kitchen with my mother, making family recipes that have been passed down through generations. My mother didn’t teach me how to cook the right way, but she taught me how to cook her way, with love!
At Twizted Oaks Gardens, we aim to honor her legacy and others by bringing people together over delicious, home-cooked meals made from the finest local ingredients. Each loaf of bread and every cinnamon roll carries a piece of our story—a reminder that love and community are the most essential ingredients of all.
Join us on this journey as we build not just a bakery, but a beacon of light in the community and a place of hope, memories, dreams, and connections.
